On 13 June 2019, The Warsaw Institute Review team held the second ”Strategy Duologues on Geopolitics” meeting. Moderator Alexander Wielgos, communications specialist Łukasz Biernacki and expert Paweł Pawłowski were invited guests at the Residence of the Australian Ambassador to Poland, His Excellency Paul Wojciechowski, where discussions pertained to the geopolitical situations in the world, the disinformation problem and cooperation between the Embassy with the think tank and quarterly.
First and foremost, The Warsaw Institute Review is grateful for the Strategic Duologue having being hosted at the Ambassador’s Residence. From the side of the Embassy, His Excellency was accompanied by Political and Economic Affairs Officer Maria Tenerowicz and Second Secretary and Consul Jay Watkinson.
The lunch and two-hour discussion between The Warsaw Institute Review and the Australian Embassy in Warsaw began with Paweł Pawłowski’s opening remarks, arranged by the quarterly. The expert gave a substantive and interesting conceptual briefing on disinformation, its history and influence on global politics.
During the opening and after, the discussion and putting forward analyses between the participants followed, where among the main topics were, inter alia, Australia’s and Poland’s social, political and economic situations, bilateral Polish-Australian relations, sincere exchange of opinions on current events in the world, the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between EU and Australia, as well as initiative and cooperation plans between the Embassy of Australia and The Warsaw Institute Review. An effective meeting ended with the determination of specific actions for the near future.
The initiative of the Warsaw Institute Review quarterly is aimed at initiating an open, strategic dialogue; developing bilateral relations between representatives of diplomatic circles, embassies, experts with Polish institutions and civil society. The meetings are elite-natured and of an expertise character, they develop geopolitical knowledge and encourage taking strategic decisions leading to the creation of new initiatives with tangible results and developing bilateral relations between Poland and other countries.
