World War II: Mendacious Narratives of History

How do Poland, Germany and Russia conduct historical policy? What is the state of modern historical consciousness of societies? Are history distortions a matter of chance?

We invite you to the expert debate “World War II: Mendacious Narratives of History”, which will take place on December 19 this year. at the Warsaw Uprising Museum in Warsaw.

The event is devoted to discussions on contemporary historical policy, awareness of European societies and the impact of the tragic events of World War II on current international relations.

Registration

The honorary guest of the meeting will be the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland in Berlin, His Excellency prof. Andrzej Przyłębski. The ambassador will open a debate with a lecture on today’s Polish-German relations and German historical policy  

The expert debate will be attended by:

– Dr Krzysztof Rak – diplomat historian, publicist, expert in international relations. Doctor of historical sciences. Managing director of the Foundation for Polish-German Cooperation.

– Dr. Łukasz Jasina – a graduate of law, history and journalism and a doctor in film studies at the Polish Academy of Sciences. He publishes texts on the East, film and history and comments on reality on radio, TV and on Twitter. He works as an analyst at the Polish Institute of International Affairs.

Moderator of the debate:

– dr Rafał Zgorzelski – historian, expert in international affairs, geopolitics, economy. A graduate of the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń – doctor of humanities in the field of history. Expert of the Warsaw Institute Foundation.

The debate will take place on 19 December 2019 at 18:00 at the Warsaw Uprising Museum in Warsaw
